The Band Ruby Cupids was formed early in 2007. College mates Matt , Nathan and Jimmy decided to bring sexy back to the Uk music scene, turning their backs on size zero gals and praising the re-invention of the plus size model. MATT has spent the last two years performing in the outrageous West End show ‘Avenue Q’ playing Gary Coleman whilst also working on ‘Bingo Wings’ in his spare time. Prior to Avenue Q Matt has performed in the hugely successful stage show of Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ and touring with ‘Miss Saigon’ which is where he first met Nathan. Whilst working together and touring, Matt and Nathan created and sculpted the tune that has come to be known as ‘Bingo Wings’. Amongst other things Matt can be found walking his dog in East London, which is where he came up with another one of his current projects, a TV series he is writing.
NATHAN is currently in rehearsals at The Globe Theatre for the latest production of Shakespeare’s ‘MERRY WIVES of WINDSOR’ Which is quite a change from his last role, starring in the hit West end musical ‘The Rocky Horror Show’. Between playing tricks on other cast members and performing, Nathan and Matt found the time to write and make a first demo recording of ‘Bingo Wing’s’ which is how they ended up in this situation – of launching a cheesy, pop-tastic track to the world. It was through Nathan’s friendship and work with Christopher Biggins, that he ‘guest appeared’ on the track. Biggin’s cheeky vocals can be found throughout the song and he can even be seen on the video.
Jimmie After training at the Urdang Academy, London Jimmie went on to become a personal fitness instructor. Working mainly in South London and putting clients through their paces, he still found the time to work with Matt & Nathan on recording the first demo of the track. Without Jimmie’s musical talents and instrumental knowledge, the song wouldn’t be half as good as it is today.
